Assoc. Prof. Youssef attained a Ph.D. from the University of Montpellier, France, in 1993. As well as being a SAC faculty member, he is also a senior research associate at the Centre for Early Christian Studies at the Australian Catholic University, and a senior research fellow of the Centre for Classics and Archaeology at the University of Melbourne. He frequently lectures at the Higher Institute of Coptic Studies in Cairo. He is a prolific writer who has authored a number of publications. His areas of interest include Patristics, Hagiography, Dogmatic Theology, and Christian-Arabic Studies.
