This is a practical unit with mandatory face to face participation, supplemented with online engagement, such as readings and pre-recorded short videos. Face to face classes will take place at SAC’s Donvale campus. Pre-requisite: Coptic Art & Iconography I.

Students who have completed Coptic Art & Iconography I, will further develop their skills in this more advanced unit which will focus on a deeper study of the theological meaning behind the icon and developing advanced technique and design skills.

  • Discuss how the Church doctrines are handed down from generation to generation through the icon
  • Develop an understanding of how iconography is a part of liturgical life
  • Further develop skills and technical abilities as an iconographer
